At least nine wood sheds on Jalan Kalibaru Barat, RT 02/06, Kalibaru Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-District, North Jakarta, burned on Sunday (9/21) night at around 10.30 PM. Fire was first raging in a woodshed belonged to A (45) and quickly spread to other buildings due to there were many flammable materials. Luckily, there were no casualties in this incident.

To extinguish the fire, 18 fire trucks from North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department were deployed to the location. The firemen managed to localize the fire and prevent it from reaching residents’ settlement. Fire was completely extinguished two hours later.
“The fire was successfully extinguished at around 12.30 AM. There were nine wood sheds burned. The cause of fire was allegedly electricity short circuit in one of the wood sheds. About the loss suffered, it is still being inventoried right now,” stated Head of North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department Operational Section, Muchtar Zakaria, Monday (9/22).
